What is Neurodivergence?
Neurodivergence refers to the natural variations in how individuals think, process information, and perceive the world. It encompasses a range of neurological differences, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other conditions. Neurodivergent individuals may have unique strengths and challenges compared to neurotypical individuals, and they may experience the world in ways that are different from the majority of the population. Embracing neurodiversity involves recognizing and valuing these differences and promoting inclusivity and acceptance for all individuals, regardless of their neurology.
Suffolk Parent Carer Forum co-produced an extensive support pack which answers many questions a parent or carer may have about their child or young person, whether they are at the start of their SEND journey or much further along the road.
The booklet is packed full of information for parents, carers and their family members and friends. Not only does it include information on neurodevelopmental differences, education and health, it has an in-depth library of resources from early years day-to-day life to growing up and finances.
